As a therapist, my goal is to walk alongside clients as they process their experiences, deepen self-awareness, and begin building a healthier emotional foundation.

I believe therapy should be a place where individuals feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment.

The Heart Behind Authentic You Counseling

My hope is that every person who walks through the door feels supported as they explore their experiences and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Authentic You Counseling was created to offer that kind of environment — a place where clients can slow down, reflect, and begin reconnecting with themselves in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Throughout my work in the counseling field, I have seen how powerful it can be when people are given the opportunity to explore their experiences with curiosity, compassion, and support. Healing often begins when individuals feel truly seen and understood.

My passion for counseling comes from a deep belief that every person deserves a space where they feel safe enough to be fully themselves.

Why I Started Authentic You Counseling

Therapy is not about fixing you — it is about understanding you.

I am a first-born daughter, sister, wife, and mom of two. I was born and raised in a small rural town in Minnesota, and my roots there shaped my appreciation for connection, community, and authenticity.

Outside of my work as a counselor, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. If I’m not at the lake or going on a long run, you might find me trying new foods, binge-watching a TV series, or listening to a new podcast.

I’m an introvert at heart and love starting the day with a good cup of coffee and a quiet moment reading a book.

A Little About Me

I believe therapy works best when it is a partnership. I meet clients where they are so they can express themselves freely without fear of judgment.

Together, we explore your experiences, emotions, and patterns while developing tools that support healing, resilience, and long-term emotional wellbeing.

grounded in collaboration, curiosity, compassion, and creating a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing their true selves.

My Approach to Counseling

While I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, I have a particular passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults.

Prior to opening Authentic You Counseling, I worked at a local agency where I gained experience in a variety of counseling settings including:
  • Intensive in-home family therapy
  • School-based mental health counseling
  • Outpatient counseling for individuals, couples, and families

I have evidence-based training in:
  • Brainspotting
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Commercial Sexually Exploited Youth Trauma-Focused CBT (CSEC TF-CBT)
  • Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
  • Early childhood 0–5 assessments
  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy ( ART)

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Dakota State University in May 2017.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in both Minnesota and North Dakota.
